It was a stunning winter day, there was a clear blue sky, it was a reasonable temperature, and there was barely even a breeze. I joked “despite its name, it’s never windy in Windsor.”—Today was no exception. My coat remained unzipped, and my gloves were stashed away in my pockets before long.

Last night we went into the city to celebrate Sarah’s birthday. Before heading over to Superstar KTV for karaoke, everyone met up at Hopyard for drinks and a bite to eat.

Just the other day, the sun came out for the first time in what feels like weeks. I was standing in the kitchen, looking around, trying to figure out what seemed different. And I realized that I had forgot what the house looked like when the sun shines through the windows.

We rang in the new year with a low key evening at home. We enjoyed some gorgeous oysters from Prince Edward Island. As well as some less glamorous mozzarella sticks and French fries.
